In the sacred silence of farewell, Shirley is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Shirley's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Forney and Ora Forney; her former husband Joseph Coy; her husband J. C. Overton; and her daughter-in-law Connie Coy.
She is survived by: her children, John Coy and Patti Ortiz (Jose); and her grandson Joseph Coy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Plainfield United Methodist Church (600 Simmons St, Plainfield, IN 46168). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
