He was predeceased by: his parents, Merritt Vance and Faye Vance (Edwards); his wife Karen Woodruff; and his sisters, Alice Leonhard Horn and Florence Reitenour.
He is survived by: his children, Lori McIntosh (Steve) of Portland, Lisa Rudy (Matt) of Babcock Ranch, Robert Vance (Jinnie) of Yorktown and Lana Hilty (Melvin) of Portland; and his brother Larry Vance of Kennasaw. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to the Jay County Historical Society.
