He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeke R. Smith and Betty Smith (Dorsey); his sister Maddy Gay Mitchem (Art); and his close friend Jerry Cox. He is survived by: his wife Jancey Smith (Welch); his daughters, Carrejo Fox (Steven), Jerusha Smith (R. J. Hull) and Elyssa Mason (Tyler); his stepchildren, Jared Welch, Brandon, Mike, Patrick, Kristina Curry (Ric Strong) and Kim Douglas (Jeremiah Threet); and his siblings, Cindy Hofman (Phil) and Scott Smith (Karen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Colvin Funeral Home (425 N Main St, Princeton, IN 47670). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 30th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
