He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert John Rode and Chelistene Ann Rode (Barton); and his great grandchild Anna Beth Humphrey. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rode (Jones) of Princeton; his children, Jeff Rode (Kelly) and Angie Gwin (Kevin); his grandchildren, Mallory Humphrey (Luke), Mason Rode (Jaelyn), Connor Gwin and Caiden Gwin; his great grandchildren, Daisy Rode, Myles Rode and Seraphina Humphrey; and his brother David Rode (Earline). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
