She was predeceased by : her husband Kenneth Ray Townsend; her son Jackie Ray Townsend; and her siblings, Curtis, Elwood, James Rogers, Nina Fifer, Lillian Stallings and Bessie Bradford.

She is survived by : her daughter Karen Mayer of Haubstadt, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Maurice, Jason Hill, Sara Nunn and Tiffany Maestes. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
