He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo G. Smith and Sylvia Fern Pfeiffer Smith; and his wife Dianna Lynn Bowles Smith. He is survived by: his children, Delbert Keith Smith II (Kim), George Waldo Smith (Robin) and Sylvia Louise Rehmel (Todd); his grandchildren, Nathan Smith (Keshia), Jared Smith (Ashley), Cory Smith (Bailey), Ryan Smith, Megan Pease (Kyle) and Mercedes Rehmel; and his brother Herschel Smith (Sharon). He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (7600 IN-337, Depauw, IN 47115).
