He was predeceased by: his father John Dobson; and his siblings, Larry Wayne Dobson and Dorothy Kay Childress. He is survived by: his wife Laura Dobson (Sauter); his children, Felicia Romalia of Reelsville, Thomas Dobson of Reelsville and Michael Dobson (Danielle) of Reelsville; and his sisters, Marilyn Walden (Joe) of Greencastle, Nancy Gardner (Steve) of Florida, Martha Kendall (Ed) of Greencastle and Becky Jaeger of California. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
