He was predeceased by: his wife Mary May Dowty; his parents, Ernest Sayers and Helen Sayers; and his siblings, Tom, Max, James, Ernest, Mary, Susie, Alice, Rita, Betty and Helen.
He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Sayers (Ellen) and Judy Messer (Kenny); and his close friends, Scott and Dawn Platt. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family for a memorial bench in one of the Rensselaer parks are welcomed.
