He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Alson and Ellen "Lucille" Alson; and his brother Fred Alson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Piatt; his children, Megan McDonnell (John) of Colorado Springs, CO and Garrett Alson (Ashley) of Heath, TX; his grandchildren, Kyle, Jake, Izzy and Drew; his brothers, Craig Alson (Mona) of Florida and Brad Alson (Kim) of Rensselaer; his son Jatin Patel (Shreya); and his grandchildren, Shay and Tayven.

Memorial Contributions may me made to the Rensselaer Central High School Baseball Lighting Fund.
