He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Johnson and Lula Durbin Johnson; and his brother Thomas Johnson Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Marcia M. Ruble Johnson; his sons, Derek T. L. Johnson (Kayla) and Christopher C. Johnson (Coty); his grandson Jaden B. Johnson; his stepgranddaughter Olivia Hunter; and his sisters, Janet Williams, Patricia Parker, Donna Whalen (Michael), Sandra Dillman (Bryan) and Melissa Cox (Kelly). He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home (790 W Nat'l Rd, Richmond, IN 47374). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
