Gerald K. Ponder Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald K. Ponder of Richmond, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 20, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert P. Sr. Ponder and Helen M. Dielkes Ponder; his wife Sue Ellen Mikesell; his son James W.; his brothers, Melvin E., William, Robert P. Jr. and Dale; and his grandson Shaun Ryan.
He is survived by: his son Robert T. Ponder Sr. (Peggy S.); his stepdaughters, Pamela S. Earlywine of Richmond and Janet L. Campbell of Richmond; his brothers-in-law, James Mikesell (Lin), Jay Mikesell (Joan) and Joe Mikesell (Amy); and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Bauer, Natasha Bauer and Nevyn Bauer-Allen. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step great-great grandchildren, one sister in law.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home (222 N 10th St, Richmond, IN 47374). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
