He is survived by: his wife Linda Shendler; his children, Kathy Christopher (Gary), Michelle Padgette (Mark), Scott Shendler (Patty) and Mark Shendler; his grandchildren, Ryan Shendler, Kyle Shendler, Alec Padgette (Alex), Erika Padgette, Ashley Fripp (Jordan) and Justin Christopher (Thuong); his stepgranddaughter Chelsea Izzo; his great grandchildren, Hudson Fripp and Cali Fripp; his siblings, Marla Franklin (Gary), Marga Nelson (Harold), Kim Shendler (Tammy) and Kevin Shendler (Gina); his cousin Raymond "Shendler" Ferguson; his close friend Jerry Butt; and his pets, Lily and Elmer Fudd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Great Dane rescue or Local Humane Society.
