He was predeceased by : his parents, Cecil Herbert (Leona Irene Jennings Cordell) and Richmond; his sister Ruth Jenkins; his half-brother Richard Jenkins; and his close friend Bob Vosmeier.

He is survived by : his wife Angie Dunn Cordell; his sons, Brian Cordell (Lisa) and William Cordell Jr.; his stepsons, Jamey Hightower, Scott Presley, Phil Presley and Jack Presley; his grandchildren, Brian Cordell Jr., Madison Cordell, Avery Cordell and Emery Cordell; his half-siblings, Karen Paxton (Jack) and James Cordell; his sister-in-law Carol Jenkins; his close friend Mike Stella; and his nephew Rick Jenkins. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home (790 W Nat'l Rd, Richmond, IN 47374). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Earlham Cemetery (1101 W Nat'l Rd, Richmond, IN 47374).
