He was predeceased by: his parents, Noble K. Butler and Velma Butler (Leavitt); his son Randy Hines; his aunt Edith Butler; and his sons-in-law, Mike Stowers and Terry Peek.
He is survived by: his wife Linda L. Butler of Rigdon; his children, Deborah Dickey (Steve) of Rigdon, Michele Wright (Dennis) of Fairmount, Tammy Crull (Scott) of Windfall, Leann Stowers of Summitville, Ronda Hines of Anderson, Ronald Hines of Elwood and Robin Peek of Fairmount; his brother Robert Mark Butler (Bryon) of Chicago; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Kief (Rob), Jason Dickey (Sara), Kari Boggess (Tyler), Landon Crull (Ava), Hollie Gibson (Adam), Emily Reid (Zach), Jered Stowers (Alexandra), Kaitlyn Stowers, Brandon Hines, Cody Hines, Kassey Hines and Owen Peek. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
