He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Stokes and Homer Stokes; his wife Doris Margaret Stokes; and his siblings, Clarence, Bill, Homer, John Stokes and Joanne Ratliff.
He is survived by: his sister Sue Halcomb of Belleville, Indiana; and his children, Mike Stokes (Sandy) of Lake Wales, Johnny Stokes (Delaine) of Robbins, Pam Ivers (Travis) of Greencastle and Mark Stokes (Jodie) of Poland, Indiana. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
