He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fields and Mamie Fields (Mattox); and his daughter Tamara Mahan. He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Fields; his son James E. Fields Jr. (Charlene) of Roann; and his siblings, Judy Kerr of Roann and Billy Fields (Peggy) of Kendallville, Indiana.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
