He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Harold and LuEdith Minerva Severns (Baker); his wife Rita J. Owens; his stepfather Jack Severns; his son Brian Severns; his brother Gary Severns; his son-in-law Mark Witherby; and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Severns, Janet Severns and Ned Heighway.
He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Witherby; his grandchildren, Kaley Starr Branaman (Garrett) and Samantha Lynn Witherby Robison (Shawn); his daughter-in-law Amy Severns; his siblings, Linda Heighway and Terry Severns; his uncle Ben Severns; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy (Ray) and Danny Owens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home (1101 Jefferson St, Rochester, IN 46975). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver Dam Community Church- Wheels on Fire.
