He is survived by: his wife Norma Morweiser; his daughters, Bootie Beattie (Bill Beattie) and Debera Wahl of Coal City, IL; his grandchildren, Karl A Gast (Jessi) of Bloomington, IN and Mary K Gast-Pyle (Chris) of Chicago, IL; his great grandchildren, Ezra A Gast and Ari E Gast; and his sister Mary Helen Payonk of Hammond, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
