She was predeceased by: her parents, Elree Denny and Effie Smyth (Howell); her husband Gerald W. Runkle; and her siblings, Victor Reeve Smyth, Jessie Robert Smyth, Joe Burt Smyth and Delma LaVerne Spencer.

She is survived by: her children, Terrell D. Runkle (Debra) and Vicki Runkle Hammel; and her granddaughters, Kari Beaird, Jeanette Beaird and Amy Runkle. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
