James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyd Delbert and Betty Irene Herrell (Smith); and his wife Mikey Herrell. He is survived by: his sons, Loyd Herrell (Patty) of Monterey and Tommy Herrell (Christal) of Moran, TX; and his brothers, Ron Herrell (Jan) of Kokomo and Steve Herrell of Rochester. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Good Family Funeral Home (1200 W 18th St, Rochester, IN 46975). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
