He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Helen Smith (Pickens); and his sisters, Irene Miller, AnnaRuth Taylor, Carolyn Abrams and Debra Jean.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Hibner; his children, Debra Jean, Patricia Funk (Marvin), Susan Duff (Steve), Larry G. Smith, Trevor Smith and Lora Johnson-Smith; and his grandchildren, Gessica Absi (Rick), Gregory P. Brown, Darrien Duff (Merissa), Brianna Barrus (Bryce), Emily O'Dell (Johnathan), Dustin Smith (Chelsie), Zach Smith (Taylor), Destiny Rice, Crystal Smith, Ashlee Smith, Cody Johnson, Justin Jordan and Ryan Johnson Jordan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
