With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert J. Gilchrist Sr. of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, who passed away on July 26, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford E Gilchrist and Ethel Gilchrist (Gnuschke); his wife Margery Jean Jones; his sons, Gilbert "Joe" Gilchrist, Jr. and Roger D. Gilchrist; and his siblings, William Gilchrist, Ella Porter, James Gilchrist, Nellie Kaufman and Glenna Williamson.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Gilchrist (Elizabeth Reinfurth) of Rolling Prairie, IN, Cliffton C. Gilchrist (Melissa) of La Porte, IN and Ann Gilchrist (Bill Pegg) of La Porte, IN; his sister Norma Bardusk of Oak Forest, IL; his daughter-in-law Lory Gilchrist of Rolling Prairie, IN; and his grandchildren, Sheryl Warren (Jason), Jody Strope (Jack), Dale Gilchrist Jr. (Stacey), Andrew Gilchrist (Theresa), Abby Copping Gilchrist (Kendel) and Keely Gilchrist. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
