It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erma Lee Shepherd of Rome City, Indiana, born in Hueysville, Kentucky, who passed away on July 4, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Zeak Prater and Zelia Prater (Sexton); her husband Bobby Ray Shepherd; and her siblings, Japalene Bentley, Billy Howard, Eugene Howard and Willis Howard.

She is survived by : her children, Debra Snyder (John) of Kendallville, Michelle Chaffins of Rome City, Larry Shepherd (Alice) of LaGrange and Rick Shepherd (Hollie) of Orland; and her siblings, Ruth Shepherd of Osceola, Ruby Schuster (Doug) of Sturgis, Irene Houseknect of Hillsdale, Pauline Stacy (Charles) of Wolcottville and Rondal Prater (Deana) of Wawaka. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
