He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence E. Herendeen and Mary Herendeen (Englert); his grandson Tyler Owens; and his brothers, Tom Herendeen and Warren Herendeen.

He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Herendeen of Rome City; his children, Amanda Randol (Chad) of Woodruff, Melinda Williams (Drew) of LaGrange, Sarah DeCamp (Larry) of South Milford, Steven Herendeen, II (Mary) of Fort Wayne and Matt Herendeen of Kendallville; his grandchildren, Krisalyn, Abrielle, Dustan, Drew, Marlena, James, Ashley, Brooklynn, Joseph, Maecee, Rodney, Jr., Cory and Colette; and his siblings, Deanna Prater (Rondal) of Wawaka, Lori Williams (Rick) of Rome City, Dave Herendeen (Carolyn) of Rome City and Gail Herendeen (Linda) of Tennessee. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship (702 Kelly St Ext, Rome City, IN 46784). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
