He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Robert Sr. and Mary Ellen Hirn (Veilkind); his siblings, Clarence Robert Jr. Hirn (Marie), Joseph Edward Hirn, Gerald "Jerry" Hirn, Michael Ned Hirn, Ted Hirn and Rosemary Wells; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Hirn, Carol Shobe, Greg Wells and Maynard Shobe.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Tamara Kay "Tami" Hawkey (Steve) of Elida and James T. Hirn Jr. of Spencerville; his grandsons, Chad Hawkey (Madi) of Elida and Steven Hawkey (Addie) of Bath; his great grandchildren, Avery Murphy and Sutton Hawkey; his siblings, Thomas Francis Hirn (Bert Hanjora) of Lima and Maureen Ann Wells of Spencerville; and his siblings-in-law, Toyoko Hirn of Cincinnati, Carol Hirn of Ohio City, Donna Cosart (Hirn) of Spencerville, Pam Carder (Mike) of Delphos, Chet Shobe (Glenda) of Ada, Tom Shobe (Sharon) of Spencerville and Bill Shobe (Betty) of Delphos. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home (728 E 4th St, Spencerville, OH 45887). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials can be made to the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company.
