He was predeceased by : his parents, Cecil Abbott and Jessie Abbott (Likens); his father-in-law Alvin Shively; his son-in-law Michael Cohen; his siblings, Lucille Allen (Charlie), Barbara Piscador (Eddie) and Terry Abbott (Nesta); and his grandson Nicholas Abbott Cohen.
He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Shively; his former life partners, Michael S. Abbott (Jennifer) of Crawfordsville, IN and Laura M. Cohen (David Hackett) of Jamestown, IN; his grandchildren, Samuel Abbott (Jennifer Kozy), Zoe Abbott, Ryan Cohen (Brittany Dodson), Lauren Sears (Cory) and Adria Cohen; his great grandchildren, Eli, Asher Cohen, Caison, Rylee, Parker, Barrett Sears and Vivian Abbott; his brothers, Richard Abbott (Carolyn) of Frankfort, Larry Abbott (Shirley) of Zionsville and Danny Abbott (Peggy) of Rossville; his mother-in-law Evelyn Shively Sarver; and his siblings-in-law, Patty, Vickie Shively of Rossville and Donald Shively (Kara).
