Matilda Knapp Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Matilda Knapp of Rossville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 23, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Ruch and Edna Ruch (Troxel); her husband William Max Knapp, Sr.; her son Tom Knapp; and her sisters, Mary Ruch Pletch and Margaret Ruch Manning.
She is survived by: her children, William M. Knapp, Jr. (Jane), Bob Knapp (Bev), Dick Knapp (Teresa), Cathy Deford (Joe) and Carol Knapp-Hill; her brother Ed Ruch; and her grandchildren, Shali (Eric), Aaron (Melissa), Danielle (Bob), Neil (Jenny), Chad (Jannelle), Jessica (Ryan), Matthew (Casey), Sarah, Ryan (Kelsey), Adriene (Nathanael), Katie (John) and Michael (Kaitlin).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Day & Genda Funeral Home~bodine Chapel (450 IN-39, Rossville, IN 46065). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, the Rossville School Corporation, and the Rossville Cemetery Association.
