We announce the death of Gillea J. Layer of Royal Center, Indiana, who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Nethercutt and Esther Nethercutt (Martin); her husband Henry Everett Layer; and her siblings, Doyne Nethercutt and Lois Rogers.
She is survived by: her children, David Layer (Beth), Rita Liming (Rodney) of Royal Center, Cathy James (Scott) and Barbara Knepper (Tom).
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel in Royal Center (304 S Chicago St, Royal Center, IN 46978). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Bell Center Bible Church (11971 IN-16, Idaville, IN 47950).
