He was predeceased by : his parents, Floyd Kennedy and Annabel Kennedy (Ryan); his former life partner Marcella Jane Brock; and his brothers, Robert Kennedy and Wayne Kennedy.

He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Kennedy (Root); his children, Lori Turner (Jeff) of Glenwood, John Kennedy (Kelly) and Susan Andrews (Michael) of Rushville; his stepchildren, Christie Kay (Terril) of Snowflake, Jason Bowling of Pinellas Park, FL and Rhonda Bates (John) of Terrano, VA.; his grandchildren, Megan Harper (Jason), Jamison Turner (Mary Pat), Dylan Kennedy (Cayla), Hannah Kennedy, Ryan Herbert (Erin), Emily Herbert, Abby Herbert, Jaxon Andrews, Kaleigh Andrews (Sarah), Dylan Kay, Nathan Kay, Ryan Kay, Hannah Kay, Addison Kay, Kyla Bates and Jayden Bates; and his great grandchildren, Addison Harper, Adilyn Harper, Ava Harper, Jude Harper, Jericho Harper, Zion Jack Harper and Everett Kennedy.
