She was predeceased by : her father Karl Heinrisch; her sons, Marvin R. Herbert and Bill Whittaker; and her siblings, Edward Heis and Inga Engelburg.

She is survived by : her husband Virgil Herbert; and her children, Randy Herbert (Kim Flannery) of Rushville, Marilyn Spilman (Kevin) of Rushville, Claudia Bailey of New Castle and Diane Carroll (Audie Frazier) of Blairsville, GA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
