He is survived by: his close friend Judy Legere; his children, Dona Meckes (Dave), Darren Legere (Amy) and Jamie York (Josh Keal); his grandchildren, Meg Cameron (Lee), Morgan Walker (Sonder Collins), Casey Legere (Alexis), Cora Legere (Aden Lytle), Raelyn Keal and Brooke Pitmon (Matt); his great grandchildren, Gavin Morton, Clara Cameron, Harper Pitmon and Hudson Pitmon; and his brothers, John Dale Legere and Bill Legere (Denise).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in Richard's honor.
