He was predeceased by: his mother Nanette Taylor (James); his brother Charles Sydney Taylor Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Marvin Lucas and Tobias George. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Abston; his father Charles Sydney Taylor Sr.; his stepmother Mattie Jewel Taylor; his children, Douglas Peo (Daniel), Lyndsey Kinney (Michael) and Tobias Taylor (Latisha); his grandchildren, Jefferson, Shayla Fouse, Cayden Yancy and Jayden Smith; and his siblings, Joyce Warrick (Gerald), Mabel Griffin (James), Judy Lucas, Kathy George and Hobart "Randy" Taylor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Ray can be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
