She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Pearce and Dorothy Rhoads Pearce; her sons, David and Ed Payton; and her siblings, Norman and Judy.
She is survived by: her husband Edward L. "Butch" Payton Sr.; her children, Anthony Payton (Sherry), Billy Payton (Pam), Mary Blue (Billy) and Jessica Iacoli (John); her grandson Gage Payton (Maddie); her niece Amy Smith; her pet Buddy; and her caregiver Clinton Gardens. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Walnut Grove Cemetery Chapel. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Walnut Grove Cemetery Chapel, Indiana Tribute Wall.
