Marilyn J. Smits Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn J. Smits of Saint John, Indiana, who passed away on October 1, 2025. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marilyn J. Smits to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Dennis Smits; her siblings, Kenneth Szczudlak (late Barb), Cynthia Collins (Ed) and Lynette Casiano (Carlos); her daughter Nadine; and her parents, Frank Szczudlak and Ann Szczudlak.

She is survived by: her children, Kevin Smits (Julie) and Kimberly McClain (Tim); her grandchildren, Kaitlyn McClain (Evan Stahr), Lindsay McClain (Nick Nauracy) and Tyler Smits (Celeste); and her great grandchildren, Easton and Nolan Nauracy.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Episcopal Church (1101 Park Dr, Munster, IN 46321).

Memorial contributions may be given to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (http://www.luriechildrens.org.).
