He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle Matthews of Columbus, Jaelyn Matthews of Shelbyville and Kristen Matthews of St. Paul; his siblings, Chip Gordon (LouAnn) of Muncie, Tony Matthews (Cathy) of Tennessee, Ronnie Matthews (Connie) of Indianapolis, Tammy Dodson (Mark) of St. Paul, Donnie Matthews (Shay) of Indianapolis, Jesse Matthews (Karen) of Tennessee and Claudine Hayes (Travis) of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Emerson and Easton England. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made the St. Paul Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
