He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence "Doc" Stroud and Mary Maxine Rickenbaugh Stroud; his brother David Stroud; his sister-in-law Beth Stroud; and his granddaughter Hayley Lawson.
He is survived by: his wife Janese Riggs Walls; his children, Robert E. Walls Jr. (Ashley) of Fort Wayne, Anthony David Walls of Gilbert, Joshua Walls (Holly) of Bedford, Jessica Nicole Walls of Gilbert, Crystal Marie Rosenbaum (Joey) of Sellersburg and Julie Ann Dodds (Jarin) of Sellersburg; and his siblings, Kevin Stroud (Brenda) of Orleans, Dale Stroud (Victoria) of Orangeville and Carolyn Gilley (William Dearborn) of Salem. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
