He was predeceased by : his daughter Susan Gonino; his parents, Dominic and Nellie; and his sisters, Mary and Christine.

He is survived by : his sons, Joseph Gonino, Jr. (Anita) and David Gonino (Susan); his grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph III, Andrew, Nicholas, Kathleen and Timothy; his great grandchildren, Jasper, Geneva, Ada and Penelope; his grandchildren, Alicea, Anthony and Alyssa; and his wife Jean.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 6th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home (14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, IN 46375). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Church (1 W Wilhelm St, Schererville, IN 46375).
