She was predeceased by: her husband Jerry Buis; and her daughter Bernice Buis. She is survived by: her daughter Patti "Tish"; her nieces, Helena West and Patricia Jones; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jasmine, Jaylen Jones, Kevin, De'Andre and Daisie Blunt.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Burdan Funeral Home and Crematory (12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
