He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kempf and Veronica Kempf (Stemle); his wife Betty Hochgesang; and his siblings, Linus, Anthony, Norbert, Charles, Mary Virginia McCoy and Martha Horton.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Kempf (Sheila), Donna Krampe (John), Geralynn Smalling (Charlie), Bill Kempf, Mark Kempf (Ellen), Gary Kempf, Lisa Hubers (Jon) and Jill Oeding (Tim); and his sisters, Bernadette Elsager, Eleanor Hammond of Indianapolis and Stella Hart of Louisville.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2504 W Walnut St, Schnellville, IN 47580). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
