Carol Lee (Berna) Stead Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Lee (Berna) Stead (Scottsburg, Indiana), who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Anton and Gladys Alberta Comer Berna (Dean Stead); her grandmother Fried Chicken; her sister-in-law Ruth Berna; her son-in-law Dan Davis; and her grandmother Carol.
She is survived by: her spouse Dean Joseph Stead; her caregiver Karen H.; her granddaughters, Brook, Dulcey, Tracey and Brooklyn; her daughters, Karen Davis and Lynda Phillips (Matt); her grandchildren, Scott McDill (Melody), Drew McDill (Brook), Sam Phillips (Tori) and Adam Phillips (Megan); her great grandchildren, Connor McDill, Jett Proctor, Oliver McDill, Wiley McDill and Honey McDill; her brother David Berna (Nora); her sibling's children, Jill Jones (Alan) and Eric Berna (LeAnn); and her granddaughter Tori.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church of Leota (3816 W Leota Rd, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gladys A. Berna Education Fund in care of Scott County Community Foundation.
