She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Stevens Sr. and Dorothy Mae Stevens (Ware); her son Elmer Barger; her stepson Joe Barger; her siblings, Barbara S. Avendano, Charles W. Stevens and Michael W. Stevens; her grandson Larry Barger, Jr.; her great grandchild Alexander Lopez; and her great great grandchild Colton Brumley.
She is survived by: her husband Joe C. Barger; her children, Christine C. "Tina" Smith (Doc) of Lexington, Indiana and John Barger (Angie) of Scottsburg, Indiana; her stepson Larry Barger (Jean) of Manchester, Kentucky; her daughter-in-law Tammy Barger; her siblings, Dorothy H. Harris of Scottsburg, Indiana, John C. Stevens, Jr., Donald L. Stevens, Sr. and Joseph A. Stevens, Sr.; her sister-in-law Rita Stevens; and her grandchildren, Leisha, Kimberly, Christopher, Brian, Brandon, Kaci, Isabella, Amanda, Wendy, Bobby and Garry. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Collins Funeral Home (465 W McClain Ave, Scottsburg, IN 47170). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
