He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Amburgey and Ella Amburgey (Mullins); his daughter Heather "Nikki" Amburgey-Colwell; and his sisters, Pauline Amburgey and Brenda Sue Amburgey.
He is survived by: his wife Grace Amburgey; his children, Lisa Pumphrey (Billy) of Austin, Indiana, Gary Amburgey (Vena) of Scottsburg, Thomas Amburgey Jr. (Shelbie) of Lexington, Brady Amburgey (Destiny) of Scottsburg and Scott Amburgey (Billie) of Hayden, Indiana; and his siblings, Darrell Amburgey (Sudie) of Lexington, Kermit (Amburgey) and Teresa Callahan (Raymond). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
