He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard G. Nichter and Bessie J. Nichter (Jack); and his siblings, Paul E. Nichter (Margie), Mary Louise Coombs (Bob) and Bernardine M. Bowman.

He is survived by: his brother William L. Nichter (Betty); and his brother-in-law Noah F. Bowman Jr..

Memorial contributions in Duane's honor may be made out to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or to the Seymour Athletic Department.
