She was predeceased by: her parents, Major Byron Proffer and Joyce Proffer; and her nephew Andrew Proffer. She is survived by: her daughter Taren Wilkinson (Paul) of Glenwood, Utah; her brothers, Don Proffer and Captain David Proffer; her grandsons, Mitchell Stover (Alyssa) of Charlotte, Lucas Wilkinson and Hunter Wilkinson of Hurricane; her great grandchildren, Scarlet and Jax Stover; and her stepgrandsons, Aidan White and Gabriel White.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joy's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her spirit of kindness and caring for others.
