She was predeceased by: her parents, Orval Gilpin and Lula Gilpin (Hartwell); her husband James Taylor Mails; her son James Mails Sr.; and her siblings, Earl, James Gilpin, Mary Bullard and Alice Everhart.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Lillian Mails of Seymour; her brothers, Ray Gilpin (Marie) of North Vernon and Eddie Gilpin (Beverly) of Florida; and her grandsons, James Mails Jr. (Terry) of Seymour, Jack Mails (Jessie) of Seymour and Charles Mails (Amy) of Norman. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in honor of Dorothy through the funeral home to the Alzheimer's Association.
