He was predeceased by: his father David Guffey; his wife Patricia Ann Taylor Guffey; his children, James Wesley Guffey and Lisa Dawn Guffey; his mother Grace Ellen Keith Guffey (Keith); and his siblings, Bonnie Owens, David R. Guffey and Richard E. Guffey.
He is survived by: his siblings, Violet Oakley, William R. Guffey and Danny L. Guffey; his brother-in-law Harry Taylor (Wendy); and his grandchildren, Emily Guffey and Jacob Guffey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (316 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Riverview Cemetery (1603 Shields Ave, Seymour, IN 47274).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
