He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Gaffney; his children, John "Jay" Gaffney Jr., Amber Mikels and Autumn Stump; and his siblings, Alfred Gaffney, Betty Quillen and Wilma Quillen.

He is survived by: his wife Robin Hart Gaffney; and his children, Evan Gaffney (Renae) of Crothersville, Indiana and Heidi Teagarden of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Im sorry that my family moved away long ago and we didn't get to spend time together with him and the family.
