We announce the death of Merry Lou Wolter (Seymour, Indiana), who passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 70. She was predeceased by: her daughter Gissela Wolter; her brother Robert A Ireland, Jr.; her parents, Margorie Ireland (Gehrig) and Robert A. Ireland, Sr.; and her siblings, Daniel Ireland and Harriet Harris (Ropp).
She is survived by: her husband Joseph M. Wolter (Joe); her stepson Joseph M. Wolter, Jr. (Jodie); her grandchildren, Brandon (Aliza), Lucas, Alex (Abbie), Lillian, Noah Wolter and Alec Coomer; and her brothers, Joseph, Christopher and Johnny Ireland.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Voss and Sons Funeral Service (316 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Merry asked that donations go to the Jackson County Historical Society or the Seymour Museum.
