He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence "Jack" Mousa; his daughter Katherine Jean Engle Scroggins; his grandson Clint Scroggins; his great grandchildren, Addyson "Addy" Engle, Blakely Scroggins and Keghan McCrory-Engle; his brother Charles Engel; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda Engle, Elmer Ross, Jim Shull, Hubert Kiste and John Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma Irene Royalty; his son Robert Engle Jr. (Michelle); his son-in-law Richard Scroggins; his grandchildren, Stacie Mason, Richanda Hahn, Blake Scroggins, Brandon Johnson, Brittany Engle, Trista Engle, Ashley Riley and Brian Cody Simmons; his siblings, Jack Engle, Don Engle (Nancy), David Engle (Bertha), Joan Shull, Wanda Kiste and Carolyn Brown; and his sister-in-law Mildred Engel. He is also survived by 32 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
