He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shepard and Phoebe Weddell Shepard; his wife Phyllis Gilbert Shepard; his son Rick Shepard; and his brothers, Kenneth Shepard, Harold Shepard and Leonard Shepard.

He is survived by: his children, Ronald Shepard (Cindy), Ryan Shepard, Johnny Shepard and Gail Imlay (Kevin). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
